Welcome to the Friends of Northcote Nature Reserve (FoNNR)

Homapage

Sometimes known as the ‘Pit Park’ this site was originally a recreation ground for the newly built Worple Estate just after the First World War. It is known to have been an open space for generations but has been neglected in recent years.

FoNNR is a local initiative, led by Hounslow residents, to transform this space into a nature reserve and wildlife sanctuary – an oasis of green for our community, to be enjoyed by all.

Running alongside the park is the River Crane, a Thames Tributary that in 1990 was designated a Site of Metropolitan importance for its biodiversity and unique tidal habitat.
