Or Knollmead Group Allotment and Orchard:

is a community orchard and group allotment since 1992, we harvest from trees planted in the past, and plant for the future. An acre of fruit, nuts, shrubs and bushes and veg arranged as natural woodland. We have two ponds, a polytunnel, tree nursery and we propagate apple trees for schools.  Produce is shared between participants.

Dogs on a lead please. Wear gardening clothes and stout footwear. If you are planning on helping, please bring a good pair of gardening gloves. There is drinking water and a compost loo on site. Bring food and drink.

The ground is uneven, there are tripping hazards, and it can be muddy. Note that Oak Processionary Moth is a hazard around West London, and it is on our site too. The caterpillar hairs cause a severe rash or even a shock reaction. Please use gloves to handles any branches and sadly, don’t let children climb the trees.  

We are located within Knollmead Allotments, Tolworth near postcode KT5 9QP. By bus: The K1 from New Malden or Kingston stops on Barnsbury Lane (near Hazel Bank on request.) 406, 418 stop at Tolworth station. 281, 265, and K2 stop at Tolworth Broadway.

From Tolworth station: cross Ewell road and walk up Donald Woods Gardens walk via the passage at the end onto Alpine Ave & right to the railway bridge on Knollmead.

From Malden Manor station: (S3 bus stops here) 12-minute walk via Sheephouse Way over The Hogsmill river and a slight uphill trek along Knollmead and follow road around to the left.

The entrance to the allotment site is to the left of Knollmead Primary School and the community centre. Follow the track around to the right and follow the path (around the community centre) to the top of the allotments site (south west end) and through a gate into an area of mature trees.

By car: Enter the estate from the Tolworth roundabout onto the small slip road into Barnsbury Lane, right at Hazelbank, left Alpine Ave and right into Knollmead.
