Community Research in 9 wards of North Lincolnshire

        Introduction:

 Context of the report

These reports detail research over nine Parishes of North Lincolnshire.

The research has been commissioned by North Lincolnshire Council and Strong Communities (a sub-group of the Safer Neighbourhoods Board).

The purpose of the research is to use participatory research techniques (see below for description) to engage with neighbourhoods to identify:

  • What it is like to live in those communities
  • what issues affect the well-being of individuals in those communities
  • what needs to happen to improve the conditions of life for those living in the areaThe research will be used in a variety of ways, including in the following ways:
  • To inform and strengthen the Neighbourhood Action Teams which have been formed to lead on the neighbourhood policing initiative in North Lincolnshire, these structures will also lead on the roll out of the Neighbourhood Management approach, piloted in Crosby and subsequently in the Riddings and Westcliffe areas of Scunthorpe. The North Lincolnshire Strategic Partnership is committed to rolling out this approach and service providers are beginning to restructure their services to reflect this commitment.
  • To inform the delivery of the four blocks of the Local Area Agreement.
  • To measure progress against the Shared Ambitions contained within the Sustainable Community Strategy and the Local Area Agreement, which are:

-           An area that is thriving

-           Communities that are confident and caring

-           Individuals can see the difference

-              Everyone works together for the benefit of the area.
