Congratulations to Sam Slocombe - Kick Start Activator.
Scunthorpe United Football Club has signed up Sam for a six-month contract as goalkeeper. Sam will still be working with Kick Start throughout the time.
Goalkeeper Kevin Pressman has high hopes for Sam after Lee Turnbull asked for him to be assessed. Kevin reports:
"Lee Turnbull brought Sam to my attention and asked me to have a look at him and I was impressed with what I saw.
"Ideally it would have been nice to get him in for pre-season but with his work commitments, and also playing for Bottesford, he was unable to do so.
"To get Sam in and to work with him is great and also to push him on - personally I've got high hopes.
"I'm expecting him to come on, improve and show that he's worthy of a longer contract and a future with the club - that's my goal."
Sam said:
"It's just great to get the opportunity, I'm really grateful to them for giving me the opportunity but I've just got to take it now".
