Booklands Centenary

MEFAS and, one of its sister organisations, Derby Civil Aid provided First Aid cover at the 2 day centenary event held at Brooklands Museum and Mercedes Benz World in June.

The 12 hour days were far from dull with the bad weather affecting the numbers attending the Saturday event, evacuating the common to enable the air display to go ahead, gazebos taking off like kites and the odd vintage car breaking down or suspected fires. 

 Casualties were few and during breaks members were able to look around both sites, enjoy the atmosphere and watch the odd race or two.  Although tired by the end of the event, everyone agreed the attendance was worthwhile and were pleased that our organisations were selected to provide the cover.
