As an artist living in Leytonstone I believe its time to raise the profile of visual arts and provide an opportunity for the local community to engage with artists and vice versa in our local area; the arts trail will provide greater prominence to the visual arts as well as providing a vehicle for artists to exhibit their work either in their own house/garden/studio or by making contact with local business who would like to display the art - this could be in cafes, shops, pubs, library etc.
The Leytonstone Arts Trail will:
a.. include an educational component for young people
b.. run concurrently with Leytonstone's festival which this year is from
5 - 13 July
c.. have web pages (currently being developed) on the Leytonstone Festival website which will include information about participating artists
d.. exhibit fine art across the mediums and will include the arts in a more general sense which includes textiles and glass making At the moment I need to identify artists in Leytonstone who would like to participate in the trail and cultural organisations in Leytonstone who may have networks to tap into.
Please contact me on leytonstonearttrail@annaspain.madasafish.com
I would also like to hear from you if you have some time to get involved in developing the art trail.
All the best
Anna Spain
