‘In addition to the considerable health benefits, the Safer Neighbourhoods Partnership recognises the positive impact that involving young people in sports and other active recreation can have on reducing anti-social behaviour and criminality.'

The Active Choices - Active Futures strategy has been developed at an opportune time. It coincides with the roll out of ‘Neighbourhood Policing’ which we hope will see greater involvement of communities and organisations in working together to resolve local community issues. Active sport and recreation will undoubtedly play a major part in our
collective response to many of the issues identified and we look forward to working with communities and with our partners to help turn the concepts outlined in the strategy into reality.

Humberside Police are committed to working in partnership to reduce crime, the fear of crime and anti-social behaviour. The Active Choices – Active Futures strategy has the potential to deliver a programme that could divert young people from activities that may cause a fear of crime, or constitute anti-social behaviour and associated criminal offences across North Lincolnshire.
Neighbourhood Policing is about working with our partners and the public to prioritise and deal with those issues that matter the most to local communities; this strategy, and the services that it will deliver, will increase the tactical options available to do so effectively.
